Sledding in September

There is a lot of construction of new apartments and demolition of old homes on our street. This leaves a lot of debris. The other day the neighborhood kids were using broken tile to slide down the street by our house. One kid had a bar of soap and was waxing the bottom of the tiles for everyone. I couldn't believe how fast we could go on those tiles! It was way too dangerous, juvenile, and irresponsible. However, it was a LOT of fun! Don't try this at home. Check it out for yourself...

I love it!! THat was safer than what we did as kids growing up in Indiana. We would hook onto the back of cars and school buses in the winter and bumper hitch:) FUN FUN!! I loved the music. I will look forward to showing the children tomorrow. Miss you like peanut butter and ham.

Way to be juvenile and irresponsible! Who needs toys when you can play will broken tiles and soap?!?

Here's one that we used to do--put a round, plastic sled disk on a skateboard. Get in the disk and have someone give you a big push down the street! The best part was when it was going really fast and you rocked it back and forth. Then you would slide off of the skateboard and the sled would keep going! I ended up under a parked car, once. Still have the scar on my leg, but boy was it worth it!! Sherry

Hey Lisa, What is up with the red ballcaps?? Seems everyone but you have them on their head? Is this a school thing? Kimberly

The red ballcaps were distributed to the kids by some guy walking out of a building. They were botched ballcaps. The iron-ons were on backwards or the iron-ons had fallen off. So, he had a bunch and started handing them out to the kids. We think the guy also stole David's soccer ball because we never could find it after the hat man left. Maybe he felt it was an even trade?
